From Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12, thirty Canastota High School students, known as Student Ambassadors, participated as volunteers for the International Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. The students first participated in a nine-month leadership series that prepared them for the event. Students assisted as greeters, gift shop helpers, as well as Membership Booth, Silent Auction, and Raffle assistants along with other necessary duties to ensure a successful weekend. Some ambassadors had the opportunity to serve as emcees throughout the weekend. All of the students assisted with the banquet held in the Turning Stone Event Center on Saturday.

Students were introduced to the inductees at a luncheon held on Friday, June 10 at Theodores. Students were welcomed with open arms by all in attendance.

This was the first year of the Student Ambassador program. The program serves as an opportunity for students to earn stackable badges in areas such as Communication, Professional Image, and Sports Management, to name a few.

On Thursday, June 9, the ambassadors hosted an assembly for high school students featuring Christy Martin. Said to be one of the most successful and prominent female boxers in the United States, she was included in the first class of Female Boxers to be inducted.

The Student Ambassadors also participated in a fundraiser for the children of Ukraine, successfully raising close to $5,000.
