Public Announcement for School Meals
Dear Parent or Guardian:
We are pleased to inform you that CANASTOTA CSD will be implementing a meal certification option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast Programs for the 2026-2027 school year.
What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above?
All students enrolled at CANASTOTA CSD are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and/or lunch at school at no charge to their household each day of the 2026-2027 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application. However, a family income form to continue meals free of charge is attached; parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to fill this out and send back to the school food service department at their earliest convenience. A completed income form can help a district continue to receive free meals for all enrolled students and also State and Foundation Aid. Other local funding and waivers can help multiple waivers, such as SAT and Music fees.
