April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we have a very special Occupational Therapist here at CCSD, known to most students as Ms. B.
Danielle Birckhead is an outstanding Occupational Therapist who was born and raised in Canastota. She has a strong connection to her hometown and is proud to be a Canastota graduate. Recently, she returned to Canastota as a school-based OT, and in a short time, she has already helped many students achieve success.
In addition to her work as an OT, Danielle is also the varsity field hockey coach and a mother of two children who attend PSES/SSES. She is always willing to go the extra mile to mentor high school and college students who are interested in pursuing Occupational Therapy as a career. Danielle is constantly learning and enjoys sharing her new knowledge and sensory input tricks with the district.
Danielle is a wonderful advocate for our students and a valuable asset to our PPS department. We are lucky to have her!
