Paraprofessional Appreciation Day

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day is an annual celebration on the first Wednesday in
April. This year, it is celebrated today, April 3rd. We would like to take this opportunity to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions of our paraprofessionals here atCCSD. Paraprofessionals provide essential support to staff and classroom teachers in a varietyof different settings. They offer assistance by working with students individually or in small groups and helping with field trips or class events. They also assist in maintaining classroom safety and proper behavior and working with students who need extra help, among many other tasks. We have collected complimentary feedback from their superiors to demonstrate their excellence and showcase their responsibilities!

South Side Elementary

Rosa Silvernail: "She always jumps right in and knows exactly what to do. She is
always smiling and happy, even when things get hard. She goes above and beyond for all
the kids that she works with.”

Nannette Giufre: "She always asks how she can help and where we can best use her.
She interacts positively with all the kids and makes sure they all feel safe and accepted at
school.”

immediately light up when she enters the room, and they are always excited to share
their successes. She jumps in to help wherever and whenever needed to best support our
students. Ms. Schenk has been such a wonderful part of our classroom this year, and we
are so happy to have her!”

transition times either within the classroom or out of the classroom, providing support
during lunch & specials (art, music, physical education, library), help with office duties
